Mission Statement
To serve our stakeholders with professionalism, fairness and integrity by:
- Encouraging compliance and thereby facilitating legitimate trade and travelers
- Enforcing the law relating to import and export prohibitions, restrictions and trading practices
- Maximizing the payment and collection of revenue
- Providing quality of service to other Government departments, customers and stakeholders
- Adding value to the compliant payment of revenue and observance of the law efficiently and effectively in order to safeguard the well-being and security of the Nation
Vision Statement
The Customs and Excise Department will become a modern organization with the capacity to provide a reliable and professional service to all our stakeholders while contributing effectively to the enforcement efforts aimed at protecting the well being of the country and the Caribbean region. To achieve this we will focus on recruiting the right people, developing motivated and well trained officers and streamlining our management and technical operations to cater for the demands of a highly dynamic and challenging environment.
